"Even if you're not a fan of Death Metal, still give 'Spreading Lies' a spin, even if it's just the once, that guitar solo alone is epic and needs to be heard."

Deathcraeft is a band created in 2017 by Kostas Kalampokas (Guitar, Bass), who after founding a recording studio in Ioannina, Greece, and producing albums for various bands, brought together Giannis Chionidis (Drummer of Prog Death band Echidna) and Nikonas Tsolakos on vocals.
Deathcraeft's debut album On Human Devolution, is a concept based on H.P. Lovecraft's writings, especially focusing on the Cthulhu Mythos he created, but at its core deals with socio-political issues. One of the tacks to feature on that full length is 'Spreading Lies', a song that I didn't see coming and it flattened me.
Normally when reviewing a track I try to listen to it as I'm reading about the band, that didn't happen this time around as I was unable to check out 'Spreading Lies' at the time due to being in a public place without my headphones (rookie mistake), and just read the band's bio.

Funnily enough my mild bout of Dyslexia caused me to completely miss out the word Death in their description, leading me to think Deathcraeft was a just a Thrash Metal band. Now imagine the surprise I got when I finally heard 'Spreading Lies'.

The initial musical onslaught is a heavier version of Thrash and sounds great, but at the thirty second mark the Death Metal vocals open up and Deathcraeft have taken this track to the next level.

The closest I normally get to Death Metal is Deathcore, the former isn't really my style, but in this case I've quite enjoyed 'Spreading Lies', it's a well made track that fuses Death and Thrash Metal together really well.

On Human Devolution was released on all digital platforms in July and it will be available on physical format in the fall of 2020 and the boys cannot wait to start touring to promote the record.

Even if you're not a fan of Death Metal, still give 'Spreading Lies' a spin, even if it's just the once, that guitar solo alone is epic and needs to be heard.
8/10
