DREAMEATER helps prove that British Metalcore is world beating.

"...at 1 minute, DREAMEATER really hit their stride and 'Shatter' comes out of its shell, and I think that is one of the heaviest breakdowns I've ever heard."

Andover in the UK isn't known for much, other than being one of the towns near Stonehenge, but with any luck it will become famous as the birthplace of DREAMEATER, the Post Metalcore four piece who only just released their debut EP Bleed on Friday the 14th of August. And on that EP is today's Track of the Week, the truly brutal 'Shatter'.
DREAMEATER's style of Metalcore consists of melodic and catchy choruses, rhythm based verses and some tasty as hell heavy breakdowns. While their vocal content tackles the topics of mental health, adversity and struggle, which fits well with their passionate and intense music.

I love the piano led intro to 'Shatter', the song begins slow and mellow, then around the 30 second mark, the growled vocals and riffs start, but they're toned down, you think you've chosen the wrong track, then at 1 minute, DREAMEATER really hit their stride and 'Shatter' comes out of its shell, and I think that is one of the heaviest breakdowns I've ever heard.
DREAMEATER has a very bright future ahead of them, I've been hearing about the band in international Metal groups on social media for a while, before I'd even had a chance to check out any of their music, that is how much of a name they've made for themselves in a short space of time. And after listening to their debut Bleed, I bet it won't be long until these Andover boys will be dropping their first full length.

Check out DREAMEATER if you want a sneak peak of the future of British Metal.
9/10
