I’ve been looking forward to this, for quite some time.

"we’re here for the track ‘Masochist’, which follows in the band’s previous releases' footsteps by being epically awesome."

‘Masochist’ came out of nowhere and took me completely by surprise, I mean, I had heard nothing from the Sydney based band in ages, then all of the sudden while looking for a video on YouTube for a review, I happened to spot ‘Masochist’ out of the corner of my eye.

Not that I would have missed it, with the track blowing up all over my social media at the moment. Especially since Polaris have announced that their second album, The Death Of Me will be out on the 21st of February 2020.

But we aren’t here for the album… yet, we’re here for the track ‘Masochist’, which follows in the band’s previous releases' footsteps by being epically awesome. It’s not quite as hard and heavy as some of their previous stuff, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great song, in fact it shows the impressive range of Polaris within the Metalcore genre. In some ways ‘Masochist’ has a bit of a basic song structure, but you don't really care when it has jaw dropping riffs, bass line and drumming, and the lyrics and subject matter also take 'Masochist' to the next level, dealing with dark theme of depression.

Seriously, there must be something in the water down in Australia these days, the quality of their Metalcore scene is astronomical. The strength of the releases (tracks, albums and EP’s), from so many different bands, coming out of my old home country just goes to prove that Australia is the new world leader of Metalcore, and something tells me that won't change for a long time.

A very solid 9.5/10

"The last few Perth bands in the Metal scene that I knew of were Karnivool and Birds of Tokyo, so it's awesomesauce to see the flame is not just alive, but fucking bright as hell."

"The track also pulses with energy, I can see ‘Sacrilegious’ blowing the roofs of venues in the near future"
