I've not had the pleasure of listening to Void Of Vision too much before now, besides their cover of 'Israel's Son' on the Spawn (Again): A Tribute to Silverchair which was an interesting take on an Australian classic. And I'm glad I finally got the chance to, as their single 'Hole In Me' is destined to be a Metalcore classic.
'Hole In Me' was released back in July as a part of the announcement of their upcoming album Hyperdaze, which will be out this September. As for the track itself, it is stripped back to basics Metalcore at its finest, 'Hole In Me' is nothing too flashy, nor mixing of vocal styles or any overly experimental guitar riffs, just pure musical goodness. Void Of Vision have dropped something that will keep their hardcore fanbase happy and make newcomers take notice, I know I have.
I really do think of Australia as the unsung Kingdom of Metalcore, every band I hear from the sunburnt country just blows me away and I almost always become an instant fan. And before anyone thinks it, "No, I'm not just playing favourites for my old home", I like to think I have a point when Australia has: Parkway Drive, Northlane, Polaris, The Amity Affliction and so many more. And we can now add Void Of Vision to that list.
