Well, that didn't take long...
We reported in the 'Albums Dan is looking forward to in 2020' list that Crossfaith was up to something, well it turns out we didn't have long to wait as they dropped the track 'Endorphin' on the 6th of February to their fanbase's delight.
We still don't know if this is a lead single off an upcoming album (I hope so), or if 'Endorphin' is just something that they put together to tide us over until the eventual release of a full length at a later date.
But it doesn't really matter what kind of single 'Endorphin' is, what is important though, is if it kicks arse or not, and fortunately for us I can confirm that yes, it does.
The intro starts off with their signature EDM sound with a voice over saying "kids want a new acid", then the rest of the band join Terufumi Tamano and bring the totally different, but still awesome, Electric and Metalcore fusion known as Electronicore to the party and the song really takes off.
After my first listen I felt there was a bit of a Rock-ish vibe, but even with it, the band is still deeply entrenched in their 'Core genre, Kazuki Takemura ensures that with his guitar. While Tatsuya Amano continues to cement himself as the best drummer in the world in my books, the dude is a machine!
I'd like to call 'Endorphin' Crossfaith's triumphant return, but they never really left the scene, nor did they even let slip in the calibre of their music, they've just been touring their hearts out, putting on top notch show after show (Spewing I'll miss their 2020 Euro swing this year, I know how they behave on stage).
So instead I'll call 'Endorphin' the continuation of high calibre music that this band from Osaka is known for.
