"[Lauren Babic] has an amazing voice, full of power, great unclean and better than a lot of male Metalcore singers that are out there today."

CrazyEightyEight is a band that I've been hearing about for a couple of years, and I'm a little pissed off with myself for only checking them out now. If you've never heard of them before, they are a 3 piece Metalcore act made up of Jarrod Alonge (internet comedian turned musician) on the guitars, Lauren Babic (front woman for Red Handed Denial) on vocals and Patty Walters (front man for As It Is) on bass duties.

I haven't had a chance to fully listen to CrazyEightyEight's album Burning Alive yet due to time constraints, but I did happen across 'Nitroglycerin' on Spotify's "Top Of The Core" playlist and I was drawn in immediately.

'Nitroglycerin' starts off with a quick little guitar riff before the band as a whole takes over for a brief intro.

Then Lauren's vocals start and take centre stage, she has an amazing voice, full of power, great unclean and better than a lot of male Metalcore singers that are out there today.

While most of my attention is on Lauren, that's not to say that Jarrod and Patty are having a break or taking it easy, the backing track is top notch Metalcore noise that boosts an already good track to awesome. And when it's all put together, you get this end result.

CrazyEightyEight

CrazyEightyEight is a Metalcore band that deserves a lot more attention in the Metal scene than it's already getting!

9/10
