"Stain The Canvas have outdone themselves. ‘Anima’ is a beautifully haunting 'Core track"

Back in February of this year, the Italian Metalcore band Stain The Canvas reached out to us to let me know about their new track ‘Like a God’. Instantly I was in love with their sound, 'God' had more than a hint of early Bring Me The Horizon, but evolved, as if they took it and bent it to their own will.
In the past weeks I’ve noticed a bit of movement on their social media accounts, first it was a change of profile pictures and backgrounds before they finally announced that they would release their next single called ‘Anima’ today.

I’ve been listening to it all morning and I have to say, Stain The Canvas have outdone themselves. ‘Anima’ is a beautifully haunting 'Core track, violins feature heavily in the intro and are a fine addition, the vocals have a great impact as does ‘Anima’ musically. But it’s the piano at around three quarters the way through and as the outro that sent chills down my spine.

So far it’s been two for two from Stain the Canvas, and something tells me they’ll continue this strike rate easily. I’m really looking forward to the day they release an album, it feels like they are breathing new life into the Metalcore genre by taking what is tried and tested and pushing the boundaries and getting amazing results.
