Track of the Week: 'Akudama' by Alpha Wolf

I felt like listening to some aggression... I think I came to the right track...

"'Akudama' is high octane and tempo, and never slows down for even a moment, which includes some of the best neck destroying breakdowns I've ever heard"

I first heard of Alpha Wolf a few years ago when one of their tracks was doing the Facebook rounds in some Metal groups I'm in, I can't recall the song anymore, but I remember it was brutal and I was interested. Unfortunately I had (and still do) a lot on my plate and the band slipped off my radar, but 'Akudama', the first single off their upcoming second album called A Quiet Place To Die ensured they wouldn't miss out this time.

'Akudama' drips with aggression and anger, in both its lyrics and music. And it's not surprising since new singer Lochie Keogh said about the new track: “This song is me flicking the dirt off my shoulders, planting my feet in the ground and flying a bird in the face of anyone who doesn’t think I should be here”

"Say it to my face, better dig two graves
I thought I told you motherfuckers I don't play safe
Oh, like a bitter pill
It leaves a bad taste when you bite
The hand that feeds
I'll see you starve
(See you starve)
Because without me
You fall apart"

Vertical Divider

As you can imagine for a rage filled tune, 'Akudama' is high octane and tempo, and never slows down for even a moment, which includes some of the best neck destroying breakdowns I've ever heard, this song will bring down stadiums once their gigs start back up.

And we have Brisbane based Third Eye Visuals to thank for the awesome and jaw dropping video that accompanies the track so well, the best way I can describe is: an anime, a video game and a computer program had a three-way... while on acid... and this is the result... in a good way!

I've said it before, and I'll say it yet again, there seriously is something in the fucking water in Australia to be producing Metalcore acts of this calibre, not a year goes by without at least a handful of Aussie albums getting released that blow the Metal world away.

Despite the fact A Quiet Place To Die is due to drop on the 25th of September, on the strength of this lead single I'll wager it will be a monster that will place Alpha Wolf squarely onto the world stage.

9/10
