And here's to you Ty, a singer, but above all a musician from California, who plays the electric guitar and the drums divinely, he’s super prolific due to his collaborations with so many bands I am not even going to mention… but I hope you will want to find out more about him after I tell you all about his latest work as a soloist with the album First Taste released August 2019.

Ty Segall
First of all I will start by telling you that this is not something that everyone can like, you must love the madness and the experimentation that Ty Segall puts into his songs, if I were to give you an artistic example I would dare to say that I see in him the Blues hints of Jack White and the lucid Indie madness of Beck.

The single ‘Taste’ is compelling and super electric, accompanied by a semi splatter music video that is, to say the least, amusing. Of the same are ‘I Worship The Dog’ and ‘Whatever’. The pure and soured Indie comes out with the track ‘The Fall’ that touches my psychedelic strings.

Ty Segall
While the songs ‘Lone Cowboys’, ‘The Arms’ and ‘I Sing Them’, are impressive for their typical American Beatlesian beat, which perhaps seems obvious, but made by him acquires something more; and finally there are his instrumental experiments such as ‘When I Met My Parents Pt.1’ and ‘Pt.3’, ‘Self Esteem’, ‘Ice Plant’ and ‘Radio’.

Maybe First Taste is not the best of Ty, but he always manages to mess your hair up, in fact I advise you to deepen your knowledge of this artist by trying to listen to his previous works, for example I love the song ‘The Singer’ extrapolated from the record Manipulator, and not to mention the album Emotional Mugger that is defined as among one of his best works ever.

Ty Segall live
Surely if he was born in the 50s, Ty would have kicked everyone's ass in the 70s with his indecipherable genre that goes from Garage Punk, to Blues, Indie Rock and Experimental Rock.

You just need to start with the "first taste", as well as his latest album and then let yourself be dragged into the past...

My vote is 8 for the album, but 10 for the artist.
