The fateful day has come and gone, in fact it has been over a couple of months since the giant slaying (well done on the boys getting featured on Spotify's New Metal Tracks alongside Slipknot, Asking Alexandria) second album first assaulted our ears. And it's time to see if I was correct with the assumptions I made after listening to 'Sacrilegious' in the lead up.

I really am struggling to single out any tracks as my top picks, I'm just enjoying the album that much. But what I do need to mention is how much I'm loving the direction that Sharks In Your Mouth have taken with Sacrilegious.

They always seem to be looking for ways to keep their music fresh and it shows here. Where Promises was straight up Metalcore in all it's glory, in Sacrilegious the band has slipped into Djent territory, a genre I normally can't seem to get into, but I'm digging it here, and the symphonic elements that round off the trifecta of sound are just next level kind of shit, and like a master chef, Sharks have made it look (or sound) easy and like musical gold to our ears.

Sharks In Your Mouth have done an amazing job with Sacrilegious, and the guesses I made in the track review of 'Sacrilegious' all came true, and I couldn't be happier. The evolution of their sound is amazing, they've kept enough of their raw passion to still be themselves, but they've polished it and added a few new layers for good measure. Which proves the second assumption I made that this would be the furthest from a carbon copy of Promises. All in all a top second album from an amazing band, I still see great things in Sharks In Your Mouth's future and I can't wait to see them achieve them.

8/10
