"No animals were harmed during the making of this film, although the bear did receive a purple nurple (not our fault, he started it)."

Zombeavers is, as you can imagine from the title and the poster, a horror/ comedy B-movie that was shot at the Disney ranch (…does that make it a Disney film?). This is director Jordan Rubin first try behind the camera but he’s not a newbie at writing, having being involved with Carson Daly and Craig Kilburn's TV shows, many MTV Movie and Music Awards ceremonies and even the Oscars. But was his love for horror that made him decide to make a move like Zombeavers.

zombeaversNever play "Would you rather" with this chick... Seriously!
The set up is simple, three super hot sorority girls need a weekend away from their fuckwit boyfriends, and what’s the best place to spend some time in peace and quiet but in a desolated house by a lake that also happens to be infested with beavers, who thanks to a chemical spill now are hungry for human flesh and they’re pretty much indestructible. To make things worse the three lover boys show up uninvited because they can’t keep their dicks in their pants for a couple of days.

Don’t be afraid Zombeavers will full of clichés because it’s really not; they stop right at the premises. In fact the plot is pretty unpredictable and doesn’t follow any of the typical horror movie rules. But the most important thing I need to acknowledge is, for the first time ever in a zombie flick, as far as I’m aware, the zombies are called as such and the rules of the undead are kinda followed.

zombeaversBecause why not?
Zombeavers is amusing, and does have some laugh out loud situations and lines, but could have been funnier in my opinion. The amount of gore is perfect, and is even more special to me that we mainly have to thank practical effects and awesome looking puppet monsters for it, also a tiny bit of GCI was used, but just because I don’t think there could have been any other way around it.

***Public Service Announcement! *** Make sure you keep watching until after the movie is finished for bloopers, a hilarious original song and an extra scene/ teaser.

7/10

Cabin? Check. College kids? Check. The dead coming back to life? Check. Beavers? Nope. Zombeavers is almost the same film as Evil Dead... Only with beavers and laughs.

The main cannon fodder of the demonic forces in the Doom game series is the poor humans who died in the initial outbreak, making them Zombies.

Rob Zombie at one point said he has a copy of ever horror film ever made, I like to think he has Zombeavers and watches it on high rotation, anyway heres his last London show.
