Since the moment the sequel of one of the most loved movies of 2013 has been announced, the Horror Community was in trepidation for The Conjuring 2. I’ve heard a lot of people saying it’s even better than the first, I'm positively not one of those.

The Conjuring 2 starts off in another staple American Horror House, Amityville, where Ed and Lorraine Warren went after the events to study the spirits haunting the place and since she has a premonition of him dying, Lorraine begs Ed to stop messing about with spirits.
Ed either doesn’t care what wifey said or he’s just a money grabbing bastard so they take a job in the UK (yes, it does really rain that often here), to be precise Enfield, to help a mother and her four children to get rid of an entity who’s making their life hell (as if being a single parent who lives in a council house with four kids is not enough).
The Conjuring 2 is a good horror but is far from being on the same level of the predecessor. I think because it’s basically a re-hash of the first, with only a few differences:
The jumpscares are still there but fewer and less original (how can you top a sinister ‘Hide & Clap’ game?), at 2 hours and 14 minutes long you can really feel like it’s been dragged way too much as I felt more than a couple of time wanting for something to happen. There is already a talk of the spin off based on the Nun demon, which I don’t quite get since it wasn’t that much of a big character to me, but again, the Star Wars population fell in love with Boba Fett after having 5 minutes of screen time in The Empire Strikes Back.
If you want to watch a good Enfield Haunting story you have to check out the British mini series of three episodes that was aired in 2015. That will scare the wits out of you!
