I was debating just writing "I am Groot" until the word count was about 350, drop a score and be done with it. While this would have got a few chuckles, I figure letting you know why you should go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a much better idea. While I reviewed Vol. 1 not that long ago and told you I really loved it, even went so far to call it one of my favourite films of that year, I can happily say I enjoyed Vol. 2 as much if not more.
While it still has its action sequences it feels more character developing driven with a lot more dialog. But you can relax, the laughs and the beautiful visuals are still there.

"Don't push this button" "I am Groot" "NO, NOT THAT ONE!"
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set just a few months after the first and sees the gang defending some batteries from an interdimensional monster that looks like a squid... sort of. Rocket steals some of said batteries which sets off a chain of events that sees our heroes stranded on a remote planet where they meet Ego, who claims to be Peter Quill’s father.

"Vol. 1 was awesomesauce, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is as good, if not just that little bit better. "

Everyone from the original are back and were brilliant. Pratt’s portrayal of Star-Lord was just as good as before. Saldana was amazing in showing how much Gamora had grown into the pack-mother role. Cooper is nothing short of great as the voice and facial features of Rocket. Kurt Russell is perfect as the mysterious Ego. Karen Gillan continues killing it breaking into the US market (something she started with: Oculus).

But the two who really stood out to me were Dave Bautista as Drax, who comes across as the muscle-bound meat head, but is actually quite soulful which Dave did superbly, and Michael Rooker as Yondu, all I can say is this is his film as he owns it by the end.

And Vin Diesel’s Baby Groot of course steals the show.

This part of the movie is up there with Darth Vader's hallway scene from Rogue One.
Vol. 1 was awesomesauce, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is as good, if not just that little bit better. I can’t say enough great things about this film. If you like the Marvel Cinematic Universe it’s going to be right up your alley, if you’re just a fan of movies then you’re still going to enjoy this one. It looks fantastic, it’ll make you laugh and Guardians 2 will definitely draw you in, and of course the soundtrack is just aces. Just remember to stay behind for the credits, there is 5 scenes that are worth wait.

9.5/10

MCU continues to fire out some awesome films, even about characters us non comic fans no nothing about, like Doctor Strange.

DC on the other hand are a bit more hit and miss even with established characters, I really did try to love Suicide Squad, but I just couldn't.

The Lego Batman Movie thoroughly kicks arse, it pretended to take itself serious but really it's just great fun.
