Make sure you catch this on the big screen for the full WOW factor! A few of you might not know, but Baby Driver has been in the making for a long time, in fact, Edgar Wright has been working since ’95 on what will turn out to be the coolest movie of this summer. The first time Wright got close to visualizing the concept was in 2002 while directing a Mint Royale music video for their track 'Blue Song', the video stars Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) as a music loving getaway driver for a bunch of bank robbers. A clip from the video is also featured in the film when Baby is watching TV with his dad. Baby Driver (named after the Simon and Garfunkel song) is the story of a boy named Baby whose interests are driving and listening to music, with a sprinkle of crime added to the mix. Somehow he finds himself owing a big favour to a criminal mastermind and that means he’s required behind the wheel of a car during some heists. At moments you might think you’re watching a GTA movie adaptation the way it’s set up: the planner giving you the tasks and the team of people you’ve never seen before that are your partners during the robbery, also the car chases are very GTA-esque – well, maybe we can’t do stuff as spectacular as this movie with our controller but it’s pretty close. The soundtrack is equally to thank for the success of this film as much as the performances, the story and the gripping pursuits (mind you, they're all real stunts too). Each song is perfectly choreographed in every scene; the tunes are omnipresent and perfectly chosen. Baby Driver is a complete movie and has it all, if you are not laughing you will be dancing, if you are not laughing or dancing you will be gasping. There is never a flat moment in the 113 minutes of Baby Driver, it will keep your eyes glued to screen from beginning to the end. The cast is full of A-list stars; from the all around talented protagonist Ansel Elgort, that you weepy movie lovers might know since he was in The Fault In Our Stars, passing through Jon Hamm whose role was written especially for him, Jamie Foxx that’s equally adored by music and movie fans, you will also enjoy the small part for a long gone The Walking Dead baddie and of course Kevin Spacey, because let’s face it, he makes everything better. Baby Driver is also saturated with cameos that are an absolute treat. First off, Hip-Hop lover alert: since the film was shot in Atlanta of course there are a couple of Dirty South rappers. In the restaurant scene, Kevin Spacey's character is chatting to Big Boi and Killer Mike. Rockers, this one is for you: keep your eyes open as one of everybody's favourite crazy bass player from California is in this! Make sure you catch this on the big screen for the full WOW factor!
