Camden’s Black Heart showed why it’s one of the great underground music venues last night, Saturday 26th of March, when it hosted Despite My Deepest Fear’s Selfish Generation EP launch.

Venue:
  • Black Heart, Camden, London
Date:
  • 26th of March 2016
Live Acts:
  • Moorhaven
  • Idols Of Apathy
  • Saint[The]Sinner
  • Despite My Deepest Fear
The Black Heart is hidden away down an alley off a side street only a stone's throw from Camden Town tube station and is a metal head haven. Awesome tunes, pool table in the corner, plenty of space and a decent selection of drinks behind the bar at a decent price.

But it’s the small intimate room upstairs that held our attention. That is where for the modest price of £6 we were about to see some of the best metal newcomers the UK has to offer.

Moorhaven opened up the first 30-minute slot and killed it. I’ve been waiting to see this band live since my discovery of them back in January and they didn’t disappoint.

They destroyed the place with their energy and skills, while they weren't on for that long they still showed what they are capable of. Remember the name, I'm sure you're going to hear it very soon and I’m looking forward to see them again.

Next up was Idols Of Apathy and again these guys rocked. A hard hitting 6 piece out of Essex that worked their way on my radar after tonights performance and I’ll be keeping an eye on them.

Saint[The]Sinner followed after for their half hour set and proved to be massive hit, Mags confided in me that they were her favourite of the evening and I can see why, their style was a brilliant mix of Papa Roach and Linkin Park that just worked great. Finally, out came the men of the hour, Despite My Deepest Fear and continuing the trend put on an amazing performance.

Now I’ll be honest here since that is what we aim for here at Ronon’s Reviews, I went in last night only excited to see Moorhaven and the plan was even possibly leaving after their set since we weren’t feeling the best.

But after catching the next act all thoughts of bailing were gone. We were blown away by the level of skill and talent from all the bands involved and had the best time at a gig in ages.

I entered only wanting to see Moorhaven, I came out happy to of to have seen them and now with three more bands to keep an eye on, I love music.
