Here's the weirdest films of the year, dudes!
Did you miss me bitches!?
Probably not, but I feel like I need to explain why I haven't been putting up new reviews on the site lately. Well, Dan and I left our life in London behind and started a new one of travel, joblessness and focussing on our passions. So while Dan is mostly working on RR, I still do stuff behind the scenes here, but I'm mainly trying to kickstart my career as a professional translator - not as easy as it sounds.
But I couldn't pass up on the opportunity of sharing with you my fave WTF flicks of 2019, so here they are...
The reason why I’m banging about Apostle two months after it came out, is because I don’t want anyone to miss this interesting movie.
Apostle was a nice little surprise from the Welsh director of The Raid and the segment Safe Haven of V/H/S 2. It started streaming on Netflix just in time for Halloween on October 12, but the reason why I’m banging about this two months after it came out, is because I don’t want anyone to miss this interesting movie.
Does it live up to the hype? Yes, it does and how.
Hereditary is a movie that snuck up on me from nowhere. To be fair, I only had seen the trailer during a Deadpool 2 viewing and was freaked the hell out - Hello darkness my old friend, where have you been? With a talented cast and an unknown director in his first feature film outing - indie horror is back baby.
Just like with a tub of Pringles, once you pop The Sinner, you just won't be able to stop.
If you want to start watching The Sinner, I suggest you do it as soon as you wake up on a day that you have no other plans. This series is gripping from the very first chapter and it is hard not to push that ‘play next episode’ button once you get going. These people know how to make the most jaw dropping cliff-hangers.
If I thought last week’s Twin Peaks series review was hard, I now have to try and explain mother!, a film that is drawing both massive amounts of praise and hate from critics and the public alike. Personally I really enjoyed mother! and I will admit I walked into the cinema not really caring. To properly explain my thoughts this will start off spoiler free, then I will give fair warning before I give some of the plot away. I know not everyone will love this film but it needs to be seen.
