When has Mat ever steered us wrong?
Welcome to the Third Edition of my Top 10 movies of the year. It was actually quite tough to come up with a Top 10. I have been to the cinema a fair few times this year, but was very disappointed in many well hyped films (It Chapter Two, I’m looking at you), but thanks to streaming, I was able to see some films that I was unable to see at the cinema – so here we go!!

Here's the weirdest films of the year, dudes! Did you miss me bitches!?
Probably not, but I feel like I need to explain why I haven't been putting up new reviews on the site lately. Well, Dan and I left our life in London behind and started a new one of travel, joblessness and focussing on our passions. So while Dan is mostly working on RR, I still do stuff behind the scenes here, but I'm mainly trying to kickstart my career as a professional translator - not as easy as it sounds. But I couldn't pass up on the opportunity of sharing with you my fave WTF flicks of 2019, so here they are... We can call Upgrade a cross between Blade Runner and John Wick, but if you think you are watching a film based on a story by Philip K. Dick, you would be wrong.
Everywhere I go in the interwebs, I only see people saying good things about Upgrade, so I went in pretty positive that I was going to enjoy this Sci-fi/ Revenge/ Thriller, and sure enough, I did.
A murder mystery from HBO which ticks all the boxes.
HBO can do no wrong. They always distribute great shows and Sharp Objects is no exception. Sometimes there is nothing like a good murder mystery and this one has it all. Suspenseful, nostalgic, weird and great performances.
Just like with a tub of Pringles, once you pop The Sinner, you just won't be able to stop.
If you want to start watching The Sinner, I suggest you do it as soon as you wake up on a day that you have no other plans. This series is gripping from the very first chapter and it is hard not to push that ‘play next episode’ button once you get going. These people know how to make the most jaw dropping cliff-hangers.
