Dead Fish Handshake make the kind of Rock that hits the spot.
Today we want to shine our spotlight on Dead Fish Handshake (stylised also as DFH) because their new album Lies... and All That Jazz is getting released soon, on the 18th of September to be precise. The record is co-produced by Dead Fish Handshake and Shane Stanton of Architekt Studios, and was preceded by the single 'No One’s Island' on the 7th of August... But let's take a few steps back and see who Dead Fish Handshake are.
Italy, why are you hiding these awesome bands from us?
One of our recent discoveries, the Italian band from Turin, Hot Sunday Blood, have created their own and very distinctive version of Alt/ Heavy Rock, thanks to each member of the five piece having quite different backgrounds. Their current sound fuses Metal, Stoner, Grunge, Black Metal, Prog and even New Wave.
The latest Alt Rock band from Northern Italy to blow us away.
My Hopes Instilled is a band from Udine, North Eastern Italy, who formed in early 2017. Later that same year the boys lost no time and released their first EP Dancing in the Crisis on the 9th of June, that was preceded by the title track on the 29th of May, and it was soon followed by a string of live shows in their home country as well as in neighbouring France and Switzerland.
Join us as we discover a new sub-genre of fun and old school noise.
Ever heard of the genre Nintendocore before? I wouldn't blame you if you haven't, it's not something that gets much, if any airtime on mainstream radio. I only discovered it by accident a year ago or so when I was doing some Metalcore related research and stumbled across it. I didn't dig any deeper at the time and forgot about it for the most part, until recently a few Nintendocore tracks worked their way into my Spotify discovery playlists. I'm now a convert.
Glam Rock demystification.
As an antidote to pretentious Rock, this Crack-Rock band is such an original, amusing parody that plays with the demystification of the glamorous ‘Rockstar’ image.
