I've waited over a year for this album, but does it deliver?
I first listened to Stain The Canvas' music just over a year ago when they reached out to share their debut single 'Like A God', which blew me away so much that despite the fact the site was down, I just had to post it on Facebook. They then continued the trend of impressing me with their second release, which became our first ever Track of the Week: 'Anima'.
Here we go kids, It's my first list of the end of year series and like I normally do, I'm starting with albums and EPs. Since my major musical kick at the moment (and has been for a few years now) is Metalcore, the genre dominates this list, but as you know, I love a good twist and have a few surprises up my sleeve here for ya!
Can anything stop this young band? I think not.
Eighteen months ago I reviewed Thornhill's second EP Butterfly, and at the end I said "The sky’s the limit boys, go for it". Now I don't know if they actually read that or not (I hope they did, but doubt it... let me know dudes!), but with The Dark Pool they've definitely aimed high, and hit their mark.
The future of Metal in the UK is looking awesome.
I first got a taste of LestWeForget’s music back in January when I checked out the lead single ‘Zero Won’ (which we re-covered last week). I remember being blown away by the track and wanting more from the Oxford based band. Fast forward nine months and I’ve finally gotten my wish.
Sharks In Your Mouth, one of my first musical Italian loves is back with their second full length album, Sacrilegious.
The fateful day has come and gone, in fact it has been over a couple of months since the giant slaying (well done on the boys getting featured on Spotify's New Metal Tracks alongside Slipknot, Asking Alexandria) second album first assaulted our ears. And it's time to see if I was correct with the assumptions I made after listening to 'Sacrilegious' in the lead up.
