No Virtue is a mature album, which this Canadian band from Ontario gave birth to in the US 6 years after their last EP and 10 from their debut album, Monolith.
Finally, after years of silence, on October 11th 2019, they managed to self-produce No Virtue with a more complex sound, a search for more modern and electronic melodies.
In March of this year Hear me Out was finally released. The first album by Reignwolf, a Canadian group from Saskatoon, which since 2012 has made itself known and appreciated for its live performances and the raw rock and blues sound in various festivals like Coachella or Lollapalooza, and opening concerts including those of Black Sabbath and Pixies.
I think I’ve found my summer album!
Prey Drive are a four piece rock outfit from the city of Norwich, UK and out today, via the cool peeps at Krod Records, is their excellent debut Once More With Feeling, which I am already calling my summer soundtrack. I know being here in London I’m currently the furthest from any decent sunny weather, but that is what this album feels like to me, and I’m loving every second of it.
I haven't been this excited for an album/EP in years.
As promised in my last review, this week is all about Courtesans’ newest EP Better Safe Than Sober, which saw the light of day this time last year and after hearing parts of it live not that long ago, I’m kicking myself for not discovering this band earlier. Hailing from jolly ol London Town, Courtesans are an all female Doom-Pop Indie band that has created a sizeable cult following mainly due to their amazing performances and I have to say, it's well deserved.
Jahseh has dipped his toes in nearly every modern genre one could think of [...], introducing noisy, ignorant 808's with a voice of aggression and pain.
Today in Hip-Hop, diversity is very rare. you have your Boom Bap conscious type artists, and your upbeat Trap type. Everybody in between, who either fit one category and much more, or don't fit those categories at all are disrespected and misunderstood. XXXTentacion couldn't fit this statement any stronger.
