Before we begin let's just get one thing straight... Han shot first.
Who would have thought exactly 40 years ago, a film would be released, that would take the world by storm, amass one of the most fanatical followings in pop culture and spawn one of the largest franchise in history that is still going today? Yup, I’m finally talking about Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
Of course New Zealand would create a Zombie Sheep film...
What is New Zealand famous for? The super hot All Blacks, The extremely long Lord Of The Rings movie trilogy + spinoffs and obviously sheep... Because there are literally millions of them, to be specific there are 7 sheep for every human in the country. So it came pretty natural for writer and director Jonathan King to centre this movie on his national animal… I'm guessing also because they cost less than actors and are not as much divas.
I am Groot!
I was debating just writing "I am Groot" until the word count was about 350, drop a score and be done with it. While this would have got a few chuckles, I figure letting you know why you should go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a much better idea. While I reviewed Vol. 1 not that long ago and told you I really loved it, even went so far to call it one of my favourite films of that year, I can happily say I enjoyed Vol. 2 as much if not more.
"No animals were harmed during the making of this film, although the bear did receive a purple nurple (not our fault, he started it)."
Zombeavers is, as you can imagine from the title and the poster, a horror/ comedy B-movie that was shot at the Disney ranch (…does that make it a Disney film?). This is director Jordan Rubin first try behind the camera but he’s not a newbie at writing, having being involved with Carson Daly and Craig Kilburn's TV shows, many MTV Movie and Music Awards ceremonies and even the Oscars. But was his love for horror that made him decide to make a move like Zombeavers.
Finally a seriously awesome Lego movie.
Since The Lego Movie was (surprisingly) a huge hit, it wasn’t a shock when they decided to do another one. Thank fuck for the second instalment, they choose to go with a story centred on the only good character that graced the sleazefest of the first movie: Batman.
