Here we go kids, It's my first list of the end of year series and like I normally do, I'm starting with albums and EPs. Since my major musical kick at the moment (and has been for a few years now) is Metalcore, the genre dominates this list, but as you know, I love a good twist and have a few surprises up my sleeve here for ya!
From the ashes of the 90's group Sunny Day Real Estate, was born The Fire Theft in 2001, a trio formed of Jeremy Enigk (vocals, guitar), William Goldsmith (drums) and Nate Mendel (bass) - both also former members of the Foo Fighters.
And here's to you Ty, a singer, but above all a musician from California, who plays the electric guitar and the drums divinely, he’s super prolific due to his collaborations with so many bands I am not even going to mention… but I hope you will want to find out more about him after I tell you all about his latest work as a soloist with the album First Taste released August 2019.
Can anything stop this young band? I think not.
Eighteen months ago I reviewed Thornhill's second EP Butterfly, and at the end I said "The sky’s the limit boys, go for it". Now I don't know if they actually read that or not (I hope they did, but doubt it... let me know dudes!), but with The Dark Pool they've definitely aimed high, and hit their mark.
The future of Metal in the UK is looking awesome.
I first got a taste of LestWeForget’s music back in January when I checked out the lead single ‘Zero Won’ (which we re-covered last week). I remember being blown away by the track and wanting more from the Oxford based band. Fast forward nine months and I’ve finally gotten my wish.
