Brothers Bennie and Josh Safdie give us what I believe will be the most refreshing crime thriller of 2017.
In a nutshell, two brothers botch a bank heist which results with the arrest of the younger. Robert Pattinson desperately seeks a way to get his sibling out. That was the pitch I got from the one preview I caught on my IG feed. Man, was I not prepared for the wicked ride that Good Time has in store.
Death has a home amongst the stars.
"There is no age limit for the Museum of Death because WE ALL DIE". That is the Museum of Death’s motto. Quite truthful and direct, wouldn’t you say?
When visiting Hollywood, just a block West of the 101 Hollywood Blvd off ramp, planted among an array of new and historic establishments; you’ll find an institution of sorts that houses rare artefacts and exhibits based on some of the most infamous American crimes, deaths and serial killers.
Are white people out to abduct and brainwash black males to turn them into sex slaves?
It’s safe to say that Jordan Peele is an accomplished comedian capable of both composing and delivering comedic sketches. Jordan began his career as an actor in the classic sketch comedy show, MADtv (2003-2008). He later became known for his shared sketch comedy project, Keye and Peele (2012-2015). This time around we get to see what Peele can do as both writer and director on a feature film; and boy does he have some wicked ideas floating around up there…
What lured the Boogeyman back in this time?
After the success of John Wick (2014), a few things were pretty clear:
→ The masses would come out for a sequel
→ Keanu would be attached
→ The body count would likely surpass the first
Just about the only question on everyone’s mind is the first question that instinctively comes to mind with a follow-up to a successful film: "will it be as good as the original?".
Whatever you do, just don’t fuck with the Boogeyman’s dog!
This film marks the directorial debut for veteran stuntmen Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Bit of interesting trivia on Chad: he was the stand-in for Brandon Lee after the fatal incident on the set of The Crow. Chad also has a history with Keanu that stems from The Matrix Trilogy to as far back as Point Break. Keanu was attached to the script and approached both Chad and David with an invitation to have them create and coordinate the action. Chad and David accepted the invitation, but requested to direct the film as well. The end result is a sharp neo-noir Action Thriller with heart.
