Beartooth ask: are they destined for Greatness or Death?
My money’s on Greatness.

Two years ago, my musical world was turned on its head by Beartooth and their  amazing album Aggressive and the gig I saw in December in support of said release. They also had an honourable mention on my  Top Albums of 2016 (which in hindsight should have made the list). The point is, they came out of nowhere and instantly became a favourite band of mine in the space of a few days.
But the question remains, how can they follow this up?

With Disease of course. An album dedicated to lead singer Caleb Shomo’s battle with depression, so be prepared for an emotional onslaught. While toned down a bit from their last LP, Disease still brings the aggression to your ears but just in smaller doses. ‘Greatness or Death’, the opener, is truly epic, it begins with some acoustic guitar strumming and almost whispered singing, you think you’ve chosen the wrong album before this mass of beautiful musical noise just slams your ears into submission. I’ll admit it, I jumped the first time I heard it.

‘Fire’ is another great track that is full of energy, and I can see it getting played a lot when Beartooth take to the road to promote the album. ‘Manipulation’ rounds off my favourite tunes off Disease, the guitar riffs are on point and the vocals work exceptionally well when paired with the music, I could listen to ‘Manipulation’ till the end of times.

"Disease is chock full of amazing tunes, yes they’ve toned down their sound just a touch but there are plenty of head banging moments still to be had"

Disease is chock full of amazing tunes, yes they’ve toned down their sound just a touch but there are plenty of head banging moments still to be had. I can see this record being on rotation on my Spotify account for quite some time, and it's even a good contender for a top 3 placing in my Best Albums of 2018.

8.5/10

Seriously, 'Greatness or Death' needs to be heard, it is such an amazing track that I'm happy to just put up an audio video of it!

Bury Tomorrow are just one of those bands that can't release shit even if they tried, so check out Black Flame.

To me, While She Sleeps is one of the most underrated Metalcore acts out there, and their record You Are We needs to be heard!
