The reason why I’m banging about Apostle two months after it came out, is because I don’t want anyone to miss this interesting movie.

Picture
Directed by:
  • Gareth Evans
Written by :
  • Gareth Evans
Cast:
  • Dan Stevens as Thomas
  • Michael Sheen as Malcolm
  • Mark Lewis Jones as Quinn
  • Paul Higgins as Frank
  • Lucy Boynton as Andrea
Length:
  • Approx. 129 min

  • Period Horror
Apostle was a nice little surprise from the Welsh director of The Raid and the segment Safe Haven of V/H/S 2. It started streaming on Netflix just in time for Halloween on October 12, but the reason why I’m banging about this two months after it came out, is because I don’t want anyone to miss this interesting movie.

This is a game I’ve been playing on and off for the past year and feel it deserves a review. Last Day On Earth: Survival is a sandbox, zombie MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) with hints of The Sims for a bit of fun, and the goal of the title is plain and simple: survive.

Star Wars Darth VaderEveryone's favourite bad guy.
35 long years ago, what we thought was the end of the Star Wars saga finally hit the cinemas. It wowed audiences, filled us with gloom before lifting us back up with hope and answered the big question that had been on every fan’s mind for three years: was Vader really Luke’s father?

While most of the fandom claim Empire is their favourite Star Wars film, I differ a little and state Return Of The Jedi is mine, simply because when I was a young child, I had my brother’s Star Wars toys to play with and loved them (still do, ask Mags), and would almost weekly ask my mother to put on our copy of Star Wars on VHS to watch. She’d always found the first tape she could find and played it for me, the movie in question was Return Of The Jedi. I started at the end of the trilogy and loved it. It was years before I even realised there were other films.

It’s December and in the next few weeks I decided to review a few movies that came out earlier in the year that I didn’t have the time to watch or to write about before and I also feel didn’t get, for one reason or another, half the recognition they deserve. Today I want to bring to your attention Slice, that was barely talked about anywhere… is it just because it was an indie movie? I would have thought the all-star cast would have attracted more people. This Horror-Com has serious potential of becoming a cult classic. I think Slice got forgotten about pretty quickly and even if it won’t win any film of the year awards, it sure is worth spending an hour and a half of your time.
