Ronon's Reviews is a small independent music website where we, only four of us active at the moment, cover talented up and coming artists and bands (not to mention all the work the behind the scenes!), and while we'd absolutely LOVE to review and/or interview each one that we get excited about, we have a difficult time squeezing everybody in... Enter this new column!
We might not have the time to do a full blown piece on everybody, but we sure can share with you, once a month, the 10 musicians we find worthy of being noticed by the whole wide world!

Japan is an untapped mine of musical gold and my latest find is no exception. It's no secret that I love my J-Core, you guys see it almost every week, but I can't help if the bands of this genre kick some serious arse. Meet MAKE MY DAY, a Japanese Metalcore, Post-Hardcore and to some degrees, Nu-Metalcore (though some people call it Trancecore) act out of Tokyo, who prior to the Coronavirus outbreak were heading for a massive year.
They dropped their second full length album Mind Haven on the 29th of January before announcing a pretty sizeable tour in support of it, sadly that all went to shit, which is a massive shame for the world. Glam Rock demystification.
As an antidote to pretentious Rock, this Crack-Rock band is such an original, amusing parody that plays with the demystification of the glamorous ‘Rockstar’ image.
Talk about 7 minutes in (Prog) heaven.
LestWeForget are one of those hard working bands that never seem to stop and rest, just last year they released the EP Theatres of the Mind, which included the awesome single 'Zero Won'. Instead of just taking it easy during this global pandemic, they've dropped new music in the form of the epic 'Visitors'.
Sweet Dark Garage!
I still remember that day when I went to New River Studios to see some crazy brilliant guys that once ago caught my eye in another London music venue.
Dan (drummer), Steve (guitar), Alex (synth), Els (bass) and Jaz (songwriter and singer) are the main components who make up Enter the Graves: an old-school Garage Rock band that will not leave you indifferent. |
