This review has a strong language warning, just like the film.

  • David Leitch

  • Josh Brolin as Cable
  • Julian Dennison as Russell Collins / Firefist

Genre:
  • Superhero
  • Comedy
Let’s start this by saying right off the bat, Deadpool 2is the summer blockbuster of the motherfucking year. You might have heard it’s better than the original? It’s true. Believe it or not, this sequel has it all: humour, touching moments, a cool as fuck soundtrack, great fight scenes and some actually half decent CGI. I’m going to try and not drop any spoilers below, but ye been warned!

Reverence by Parkway Drive

"Reverence is beautifully constructed and quite clearly a labour of love and features a lot more clean vocals than any other record, but don’t worry, the deep growls are still there."

Picture
Label:
  • Epitaph
Release Date:
  • 4th of May 2018
Band Members:
  • Winston McCall - vocals
  • Jeff Ling - lead guitar
  • Luke Kilpatrick - guitar
  • Jia O'Connor - bass
  • Ben Gordon - drums
Genre:
  • Metalcore
Even though Parkway Drive never left the scene, I still feel the need to say: they’re back better than ever and prove why they are the Australian kings of Metalcore, despite the fact Winston McCall claims they have outgrown the genre. But after listening to Reverence for a week I have to disagree. Why you ask? Read on and find out...

A Perfect Circle's Eat The Elephant

57 minutes of a musical experience that ticks all the boxes.

Picture
Label:
  • BMG
Release Date:
  • 20th of April 2018
Band Members:
  • Maynard James Keenan - Vocals
  • Billy Howerdel - Guitar, Bass and Keyboards
  • Matt McJunkins - Bass on 'By and Down the River' and 'Feathers'
  • Jeff Friedl - Drums
Genre:
  • Progressive Rock
  • Atmospheric Rock
After 14 long years A Perfect Circle finally dropped the follow up to 2004’s eMotive and I for one can't be happier. While some fans are a bit critical of the band’s move away from the heaviness of the first 3 studio releases, I and many others are praising the group for experimenting. I mean, it’s been 14 years and both Maynard and Billy have other projects (Tool, Puscifer and Ashes Divided), of course their sound would evolve. As usual here are my top five picks off Eat The Elephant.
