Today in Hip-Hop, diversity is very rare. you have your Boom Bap conscious type artists, and your upbeat Trap type. Everybody in between,  who either fit one category and much more, or don't fit those categories at all are disrespected and misunderstood. XXXTentacion couldn't fit this statement any stronger.
XXXTentacion, or Jahseh Onfroy is an artist from Broward County, Florida who popped into the public eye early 2017, and flipped Hip-Hop upside down. Jahseh has dipped his toes in nearly every modern genre one could think of; Boom Bap type Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, of course R&B and pioneered a combination of Metal, or Grunge into Hip-Hop, introducing noisy, ignorant 808's with a voice of aggression and pain.

Along side his cult following like fanbase, Jahseh is either deeply loved or gruesomely despised by the public, predominantly because of his versatility. 17 is Jahseh's debut solo album, "a collection of nightmares, thoughts and real life situations." to accomplish this, X uses his deadliest weapon, his versatility to express the pain and emotion within him while introducing a fusion of R&B, Hip-Hop, live instrumentation acoustics, and fantastic sampling.

Beneath the sonics, Jahseh recites dreary tales of a friend of his, Jocelyn Flores, who had committed suicide after he had flown her to LA, and his ex girlfriend who had accused him of abuse which later led to his incarceration.

"The raw emotion displayed throughout the project is inescapable, similar to his thoughts"

The raw emotion displayed throughout the project is inescapable, similar to his thoughts; however, Jahseh's biggest weakness pleads guilty to the duration of his tracks. very few tracks on this album reach past the 3 minute mark, proposing the question, would this project had been so enjoyable if it had been stretched to at least 3 minutes per track?

To conclude, Jahseh proved not only his tremendous musical talent, but his poetic skills as well.

'Jocelyn Flores', 'Depression & Obsession', 'Everybody Dies In Their Nightmares', 'Save Me', 'Fuck Love' and 'Carry On'.

Another band well know for pouring their own souls into their music is Korn, after 24 years you'd think they had purged their demons, but after listening to The Serenity of Suffering, it seems not.
