Congratulations! We've survived and made it to May! To celebrate, have a list of video games that are set for release this month.
I also want to mention the huge news that broke yesterday (30th of April) but we were too busy finishing this list to cover; the announcement of Assassin's Creed Valhalla... which will be out at the end of the year. We've included the spine tingling trailer at the end of the list, check it out, it looks intense. Assassin's Creed as a series hasn't failed us gamers yet and Valhalla looks just as amazing.

The John Wick franchise has been massively successful since its inception with the first film back in 2014, so what do you do with a hit film? Make more money by releasing a video game of course!
John Wick Hex, isn't the shooter you think it's going to be, rather a Tactical Role-Player that also has Turn Based elements. While it does look quite cartoony, I've watched a few minutes of the game and I'm quite impressed with what I saw. John Wick Hex won't win any major gaming awards, but this prequel will garner more than a few fans with its PS4 release.

Continuing the trend of cartoony games, we move onto Void Bastards, where you're one of many prisoners on board a stranded prison-ship and are press-ganged into helping fix the vessel by boarding and searching other craft as you come across them, looking for fuel and parts while fighting off all manner of enemies. But don't get attached to your character as you will die, and pick up where he (or she) left off with the next prisoner, à la Zombi.
Sounds frustratingly fun to me.

Looks like 2020 is becoming the year of the remake in the video game world. We've had Resident Evil 3 and Final Fantasy VII both last month and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is set for June. And May isn't missing out on the remastering, with PlayStation 4 and Switch players getting Star Wars Episode 1: Racer.
Having played and owned the original on the N64, and knowing how good of a Sci-Fi based racer it is, I'm surprised it has taken this long for a modern port, and quite perplexed as to why only the two consoles, I would have thought the developers would've gone board and done it for all systems.

Maneater isn't the first game that puts you in control of a blood thirsty shark, and nor do I believe it will be the last. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Maneater looks amazing.
The team behind it admits that while they were inspired by the ill received (but still pretty fun) Jaws Unleashed (released back in 2006 on PS2, Xbox and PC), they still wanted their own game, not something that would be called a clone. And after checking out their "Developer Diary 4" video (find below), I can safely say they succeeded. I'm eagerly awaiting this one.
Last year when asked if there was anything on the horizon for the franchise, Deep Silver (the company that owns developer Volition) said they were "deep in development" on a Saints Row title, since the word new was never mentioned, is this remaster what they were referring to? I've dug around as much as I could, but have found nothing about a brand new title, this is either what they were talking about or they're keeping their cards close to their chest on this one.
But this shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone, Nintendo Switch just got Saints Row 4 back in March, maybe this is the big plan, remaster all the old games to get everyone excited, then drop a new one in their laps for Christmas... genius!

Nintendo Switch gamers rejoice! The BioShock: Collection will be yours to play by the end of the month. In the pack you will find BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite plus all their DLCs. The first two games were completely remastered for the collection, while Infinte was just ported from the PC version.
Looks like it's a good time to be a Nintendo Switch player, since they are now also getting the Borderlands Legendary Collection, which includes the first two games in the franchise and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Bloody hell! Another Nintendo Switch release, this time with XCOM2 and all its DLCs. I know other consoles have had this for a least a few years now, but better late than never, eh?
As promised, the trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla
