Things are heating up in the gaming world, as the year ticks along the bigger titles start to see the light of day, and March is no different. We have Doom in all its gore, Animal Crossing for the wholesome and for the Sports fans there is MLB The Show 20. There is a bit of everything this month. Including a returning franchise that we all thought was long dead... 11th of March I don't play a lot of platformers anymore, despite the fact that they were the games I grew up on. But every so often a title will come along, that will try to tempt me. And I think that might be Ori and the Will of the Wisps this year. After watching the gameplay trailer and seeing how difficult, but beautiful it looks, I have to admit I'm considering... plus the fact Ori will be out on the Xbox Game Pass. 17th of March I haven't played a Baseball video game in over 20 years, and to be honest I don't think I'll be changing that anytime soon. Don't take that the wrong way, MLB The Show 20 looks pretty cool, from the trailer alone it's making me think of an EA FIFA clone but for Baseball, which would be pretty interesting. But I'm not a Baseball fan anymore, so I'll pass. If only they made a Cricket game like FIFA... 20th of March I've never played any of the Animal Crossing games, don't intend to, but after checking out the trailer for New Horizons I now understand why people flock to it... sort of. It's wholesome fun like the majority of Nintendo's titles, you can craft, hang out with mates, and more or less shape the design of the island (in New Horizons) into anything you want. I get it, but I won't be getting it. The Nintendo 64 sequel to DOOM II, in all its glory. There is nothing more to say on this. If I had money I would have pre-ordered this bad boy months ago (and not just to get my hands on the Doom 64 remake), but alas I don't, didn't and won't be getting this for some time. Which is a massive shame as it looks intense; Doom Eternal appears to have taken what its predecessor started and expanded it two-fold. Highlight of the month for me right here! 23rd of March Half-Life fans rejoice! your 13 year wait is finally over... if you have a Windows based VR set up that is. The trailer for this title was seen 10 million times in the first 24 hours, and caused Virtual Reality sets to sell out around the world in months. This could be a Game of the Year contender right here. 24th of March There is a massive amount of hype surrounding Bleeding Edge, but I'm just not getting it, I've watched the videos and read a few articles on the upcoming title, but I can't find any substantial information. It just looks like a 4v4 brawler with weird characters... am I missing something? With that said, it still seems the internet is going bonkers for the Beat 'Em Up and can't wait to get their hands on it. 27th of March When I first saw this title I thought it was a pirate version of the Dynasty Warriors franchise, where you have to plunder your way around a map and take over hide outs and stuff. Well it turns out I was half right, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 has a gameplay quite similar to Dynasty, but is actually based on the Anime One Piece, which as you can guess is about pirates. Meaning this is a story based Beat 'Em Up/ Hack and Slash - might be interesting. I always thought the Saints Row series was a knock off of GTA that then evolved into its own thing, man was I wrong. I've still yet to find the time to play any of the Saints Row games, but after researching them, I really wish I had, they sound amazing! And with the Nintendo Switch getting a port of the 4th title, I have the feeling there is about to be a lot more fans.
