Happy almost March! Boy, do we have a treat in store for you. We have decided to do something a little different from now on for this segment. Instead of just telling you the basic info such as release date, title, artist, genre, video and label, now we have relevant quotes from your favourite musicians, fun facts about the album, features, tour dates and whatever is interesting about the record coming out next month. Also the graphics are all jazzed up, same as the home page. If you haven't had a look there, let us know what you think - we're pretty proud of it!

Rap

After winning his first BET Award for Best New Artist last year, and hit over 9 billion streams worldwide with his 2018 debut EP Harder Than Ever which also debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart, the sophomore album of the Atlanta rapper is almost out and will feature Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Future, Gunna and more.

Carnivore
Body Count

Label:
Century Media Records

Genre:
Metal

In case you wanted to know, here’s Ice-T's explanation for the album title from an interview he did with the UK radio station Gem: “The new album is titled Carnivore, only because people are getting so soft. It’s okay for me to say, ‘Oh, I’m a vegan,’ or, ‘I’m a vegetarian.’ I say, ‘I’m carnivorous — I only eat meat.’ People go, ‘What the f**k?’ I think the person that’s gonna come get you won’t be a vegetarian; it will be [someone] carnivorous.”

Carnivore will feature Amy Lee from Evanescence on the song ‘When I'm Gone’, Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta on ‘Another Level’ and Power Trip's Riley Gale on ‘Point the Finger’. Also worth mentioning, a cover of Motorhead's ‘Ace of Spades’ is track #4.

Blue Moon Rising
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Picture

Label:
Sour Mash Records

Genre:
Rock

After touring the US with The Smashing Pumpkins and Australia with U2 last year, sounds like Noel is done with live shows: ”I’m ready to call it a day, actually. I’m ready to stop touring for a while. I’m ready to take a big chunk of time off, I can see myself not producing as much material and touring every five to six years, as opposed to every two or three. I’m 52 now. By the time I finish the next tour I’ll be 58, so that’s nearly 60. You don’t know how you’re going to feel physically. You’re gonna think, ‘Can I be fucking arsed to be away from the kids?'”

Nonetheless, here are the dates High Flying Birds have planned for 2020, but only in the UK so far:
  • 24th and 25th of March – Manchester 02 Apollo, Manchester
  • 27th of March – Royal Albert Hall, London
  • 18th of June – Thetford Forest, Suffolk
  • 19th of June  – Cannock Chase Forest, Staffordshire
  • 21st of  June – Kenwood House, London
  • 23rd of June – Eden Project, Cornwall
  • 24th of June – Bristol Sounds, Bristol
  • 26th of June – Sherwood Pines, Nottinghamshire

A Beautiful Place To Drown
Silverstein

Picture

Label:
UNFD

Genre:
Rock

What’s the best way to celebrate a 20th anniversary? Well, if you’re a band, a record seems appropriate. Silverstein's ninth studio album will feature: Aaron Gillespie of Underoath on the lead single ‘Infinite’, Aaron Marshall AKA Intervals on ‘Bad Habits’, Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo on ‘Burn It Down’, Princess Nokia on ‘Madness’ and the lead vocalist of the Rock band Simple Plan, Pierre Bouvier on ‘Take What You Give’.

Here’s what Shane Told thinks of the below single ‘Bad Habits’: “When we finished putting together ‘Bad Habits’ I knew it was going to be a fan favorite.  This song is action packed and just plain fun.  It’s a rush of adrenaline and then Aaron from Intervals comes in shredding and just puts it over the top.”
With 4.9k thumbs up (and counting) and only 46 down on YouTube, it’s hard to contradict him.

All Visible Objects
Moby

Label:
Little Idiot
Mute Records

Genre:
Electronic

The 54 year old musician that has also been vegan for 32 years and is an animal rights advocate, will donate the proceeds from the record to a number of charities and organisations dedicated to a more sustainable future including: Brighter Green, Mercy for Animals, Rainforest Action Network, Extinction Rebellion, The American Civil Liberties Union, Animal Equality, The Physicians Committee, The Human League, The International Anti-Poaching Foundation, The Good Food Institute and The Indivisible Project.
I don’t think Body Count will be buying this album.

20th of March

ALICIA
Alicia Keys

Picture

Label:
RCA

Genre:
R&B
Soul

The American singer, songwriter, pianist and music producer, with 15 Grammys, 7 BET Awards and nine Billboard Music Awards under her belt, explains with candour the new album's theme: “I’m at a place in my life where I’m loving and accepting all the different facets of who I am. In the past I’ve only known certain sides of myself but now I realize that I’m ready to be more in touch with all the sides within. With my album ALICIA, I’m unfiltered. I’m sharing all of who I am and how I feel. I never could’ve titled an album Alicia before. I’m closer to myself then I’ve ever been.”

Alicia Keys has a LOT of live shows already planned for 2020, so if you want to see if she is coming somewhere close to you (she probably is), have a look at the full list on her site.

I Am Not A Dog On A Chain
Morrissey

Picture

Label:
BMG

Genre:
Rock

The controversial ex frontman of The Smiths' thirteenth solo release comes 2 years after Low In High School and the 2018 covers album called California Son. I Am Not A Dog On A Chain is produced by long-time collaborator Joe Chicarelli and was recorded both at Studio La Fabrique in Saint-Rémy de Provence in France, and Sunset Sound in Hollywood.

Only a few days ago it was confirmed that Morrissey will play a five-night residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on June 26th and 27th, plus July 1st, 3rd and 4th.

After Hours
The Weeknd

Picture

Label:
XO
Republic

Genre:
R&B
Pop

The album that was thought to be called Chapter VI, as a reference to this record being the sixth chapter in The Weeknd's career, has artwork and aesthetic for the promotional material that’s been described psychedelic and inspired by films such as: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Joker, Casino, and the 2019 Safdie brothers film starring Adam Sandler where The Weeknd also has a cameo, Uncut Gems.

Born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, The Weeknd has a massive tour to support the new release, that will start on the 11th of June in Vancouver and will end on the 12th of November in Paris, touching for the most part Canada and North America, but also a bit of Europe.

C A L M
5 Seconds of Summer

Picture

Label:
Interscope

Genre:
Pop

The Sydney boys recently joined APRA's list of 'stream billionaires' after raking in more than a billion streams for their 2018 album Youngblood – will they do the same with C A L M?
‘Old Me’ is the album’s fourth and latest single and features a video with adorable baby pictures of the band, it was preceded by ‘No Shame’ in early February, while ‘Easier’ and ‘Teeth’ were released last year.

The No Shame 2020 Tour will touch Europe, North and Central America, and will finish in their native Australia.

Fun fact, the album’s title is an acronym of the member’s first names: Calum, Ashton, Luke, Michael.

Gigaton
Pearl Jam

Picture

Label:
Monkeywrench
Republic

Genre:
Alt Rock

Lead guitarist Mike McCready said about Gigaton “Making this record was a long journey […] It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

Pearl Jam decided to tease their latest track in a different way. From the 13th of February if you used the Augmented-Reality function on the Pearl Jam app and pointed it at the moon it would begin to play animations on your screen on and around the moon that were timed to the new song 'Superblood Wolfmoon'.

27th of March

ADHD
Joyner Lucas

Picture

Label:
Twenty Nine Music Group

Genre:
Hip-Hop
Rap

Already seven singles have been dropped for the rapper’s debut studio album: lead ‘I Love’, ‘Devil’s Work’ and on the 23rd of May Joyner squashed the beef with Logic releasing the track ‘Isis’. ‘Broke and Stupid’ came out last June, ‘10 Bands’ featuring Timbaland was out in July, September saw the titular track ‘ADHD’ and February 2020 was the turn of ‘Revenge’.

Another notable feature is Eminem on the track ‘What If I Was Gay’. You will also be happy to know that Joiner confirmed “After I release ADHD, from that point on I plan on releasing another two projects in March". Sounds like March is gonna be a good month for the fans of the American rapper/ singer/ songwriter/ producer/ poet/ actor.

Dates To Be Announced
