Is Capcom just going to remake their older titles...? Because I'm ok with this.
Capcom, the giant video gaming developer has been a little busy recently, renewing more than a few of their copyrights on their older intellectual properties: Mega Man, Power Stone, Darkstalkers, and Dino Crisis.
Now we know not to see this as a definite, as Capcom and a lot of companies re-issue copyrights all the time on their older assets, but it was revealed earlier this year that Capcom had told investors that after the success of the Resident Evil 1 & 2 remakes and the amount of positive noise regarding the upcoming Nemesis project, they were open to "[awaken] dormant intellectual properties" in the future.
The other thing we have to take into account is this might not be a remake, it could be a straight up reboot, or even sequel to just the original (the soft reboot). Either way I'm excited about this situation, if it does indeed turn out to be true.
Dino Crisis was an amazingly chilling title when I first played it all those years ago, and I'd be more than happy with a reboot or a remake. So Capcom, if you're still on the fence regarding what to do with Dino Crisis, come down and make this happen, us gamers will make it worth your while.
